  • As SVP, Global Operations, Wendy Jones leads eBay’s Operating Committee,  which oversees the development and execution of our business roadmap. She also runs our Global Customer Service (GCX) operations and our Workplace Resources Function (WPR) -- responsible for eBay’s facilities around the world.

In her role, Wendy drives cross-functional collaboration, accountability, and results within the business – bringing organizations together to advance more effective operating models, and improve execution. She ensures that customers are at the front and center of our initiatives.

Prior to her current role, Wendy managed the overall separation process with PayPal and now continues to oversee all elements of the operating agreements between the two companies.

Wendy began her career at eBay in 2003 as VP Customer Service for North America and Australia.  Wendy has largely focused her career here on growing eBay’s global presence.   She worked in Europe, Canada and the US, led our geo expansion efforts, launching eBay in markets like Brazil, Russia, and Mexico, and spearheaded our cross-border trade efforts. Wendy's team also oversaw the customer experience in these markets, partnering with product and other functional teams within eBay.

Wendy has held various other leadership roles within eBay – in customer support, marketing, advertising, and operations, including two international assignments. During her time in Europe, she was responsible for leading marketing, operations, and advertising for eBay's European portfolio of sites.

Wendy is committed to furthering others' ambitions through personal mentoring and professional affiliations within eBay. She has advanced important topics for women within the company, and serves as mentor to women within and outside eBay.

Wendy is also an active eBay customer, and in fact she found her job on eBay – literally – in November 2003, after seeing an on-site ad for the role of Vice President of Customer Support. Prior to joining eBay, Wendy worked at State Street Bank, Land Rover NA, and for iSKY, Inc., in various leadership roles.

Wendy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from Loyola College. She was recently recognized with the 2015 Rolland Teel Distinguished Alumna award from Severn School. Her interests include boating, tennis, and travel.

    Wendy's favorite eBay experience:

"I grew up wanting one thing and one thing only – to be a professional tennis player and to play at Wimbledon. My first eBay purchase EVER was to attend the 2000 Men's Final, which turned out to be an epic match between Pete Sampras and Patrick Rafter, where Pete Sampras won his 7th (a record) and final Wimbledon title. I couldn't get to Wimbledon as a player, but eBay got me there."
