Mazen Rawashdeh

VP, Platform Engineering

Mazen oversees the vision, strategy and transformation of eBay’s global platform and infrastructure, which is the foundation of our ecommerce marketplace. His responsibilities include leading the re-platforming effort to modernize the deployment, reliability, efficiency and speed of our platform.

A seasoned executive with 27 years of broad experience in information technology with both fortune 500 and internet startup experience, this is Mazen’s second stint at eBay. He first joined eBay in early 2003, leading our Infrastructure and Technical Operations for over eight years. He then returned to eBay in 2016 to lead our re-platforming effort.

Prior to joining eBay, Mazen spent five years at Twitter as VP of Infrastructure Engineering and Operations, and helped scale both its business and massive infrastructure through its IPO.

Mazen started his career in Silicon Valley at Oracle in the late 1990s and then moved to LoudCloud, a startup, where he held multiple engineering roles and developed a unique perspective on large scale, mission critical infrastructure.

Mazen has a BSCS in Computer Science and Mathematics from Chapman University. In his free time, Mazen is a loyal Barcelona Football fan (go Messi) and an angel Investor and advisor to tech companies.

Mazen’s Favorite eBay Experience:

“My 18-year-old son is an avid eBay buyer and seller. I regularly hear his compliments and complaints on both buying and selling experiences. This reminds me how relevant and accessible our commerce platform is to all ages of users.”
