2012 Fall Seller Update
By: Sue Rosenstock
On the heels of delivering very strong Q2 2012 earnings, eBay is honoring its commitment to being a top-choice shopping destination and investing in new experiences that attract more buyers. eBay’s multi-year effort is working to build trust in the marketplace and support sellers who deliver the great service and selection buyers want.
The second release of 2012 is focused on helping sellers succeed, with the goal of making it easier and more profitable to sell to the growing ranks of buyers.
This release provides more safeguards for sellers, providing helpful updates to eBay Buyer Protection policies and making it easier for sellers to report buyers who don’t follow the rules of the marketplace.
There are also a number of new features that are intended to make it easier for sellers to connect their listings with interested buyers, and for buyers to find just what they’re seeking.
A new Top Rated Plus seal, coming in September, will highlight listings from Top Rated sellers that offer 1-day handling and 14-day or longer money-back returns. It will replace the current Top Rated seller badge. Starting in October, new and revised listings and re-listings submitted through eBay tools must include at least one picture. To give sellers more time to comply, the other picture requirements announced in February will take effect in 2013.
