eBay Inc. Again Honored for Innovative, Inclusive Work Environment

And earlier this month, positive reviews from eBay Inc. employees landed the company on Glassdoor’s most recent list of the top 50 places to work. Glassdoor, a jobs and careers community site, compiles its annual Employee Choice Awards through online surveys on everything from work/life balance and career opportunities to company culture and compensation and benefits.
The Glassdoor award comes just after eBay Inc. received a perfect score – for the sixth year in a row – on the Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to workplace equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (LGBT) people.
“The awards reinforce what we at eBay already know: If you create an environment where employees can thrive, they’ll do great things that ripple through the company and beyond,” said Lee Readman, global head, attraction, executive and functions talent acquisition.
A testament to how the company’s work environment contributes to advancements in commerce is the appearance of both PayPal and eBay on Fast Company’s 2013 list of the most innovative companies. PayPal’s in-store payment method landed it in the top 10 in the Finance category while eBay’s efforts to make it easy for customers to buy and sell on their phones guaranteed a top 10 spot in the Mobile category.
“Our employees focus on building the future of commerce. They work hard every day to find new ways to help customers, not to win awards. The awards have come because the work is top-notch, and we’re confident we’ll see even greater things from our employees,” Readman said.
