Empowering Seller Success at eBay

Progress doesn’t stop at eBay, where we are continuously working to improve the selling experience.
To support this goal, eBay said Tuesday it was rolling out a new seller release update. The changes, which include a new grace period for Top-Rated Sellers and more safeguards for hard-earned feedback, are being introduced in time to boost profits for the 2013 holiday rush. We are also adding new enhancements to eBay’s Managed Returns program, a program that offers a retail-like returns process that allows buyers to shop confidently on the eBay platform. The updates will require little to no change to active listings, but deliver important safeguards, and are designed to minimize disruption to sellers.
“In the spirit of partnership, we want sellers to have the stability and support they need for strong holiday sales,” said Michael Jones, Vice President of Merchant Development at eBay. “These new updates deliver safeguards and stability to boost sellers’ profits in the holiday rush.”
The new seller release update builds upon the seller changes introduced this past March — particularly around eBay’s new price structure and fee simplifications, which virtually eliminated all upfront costs for all sellers. eBay understands the impact on a sellers’ business when a buyer commits to purchase but doesn’t pay, so we also successfully introduced a series of updates that significantly reduced unpaid items and help keep sellers’ items in front of interested buyers.
Overall, eBay aims to invigorate the selling experience with changes designed to make our platform the best — and most competitively priced — place to sell in the U.S., and reinforce how we are a partner, and not competitor, to our sellers. We know global commerce and how to drive it.
