eBay Inc. Named A Most Ethical Company
By: eBay Inc. Editors
The Ethisphere Institute, an international think tank, has named eBay Inc. as one of the world’s most ethical companies for 2014. This is the fourth time that the company has earned this honor from the Institute, which considers nominations from thousands of companies and rates them using a proprietary rating system. The ratings measure five core qualities: ethics and compliance; reputation, leadership and innovation; governance; corporate citizenship and responsibility; and culture of ethics.
eBay Inc. is one of the few companies that has made the list for multiple years, a recognition that underscores the company’s status as an ethically and socially responsible organization. As a leading global commerce and payments platform company, eBay Inc. enables hundreds of millions of people to buy, sell and pay online. Subsequently, the company creates economic opportunity, powers charitable giving, uses ethical leadership as a profit driver, and embodies the Institute’s credo of “Good. Smart. Business. Profit.”
This year’s honorees span 41 industries, 22 countries and five continents, and eBay Inc. is honored that the Institute has recognized its efforts in driving social innovation and corporate responsibility.
