eBay Managed Payments: Three Weeks In
Our new payments experience is driving GMV and seller savings.
Shoppers expect to be able to check out and pay on the site where they’re shopping. eBay will now manage the payments transaction, which means shoppers will be able to complete their purchases all on eBay.
Data as of January 29, 2019.
*Based on a July 2018 eBay study of provider rates among leading competitors as they would apply to the average selling price of the invited seller population in the past 90 days, comparing flat rates charged for online processing only and excluding any applicable monthly fees. We encourage sellers to calculate how these fees will affect their own selling costs.
After enrolling in managed payments, DetroitAxle owner Mike Musheinish says the biggest benefit to his business is the savings on the payment processing fees on each transaction. “Anywhere we could save, eBay’s helping us do it,” he says.
Seller Bhaumik Gandhi says the biggest advantage of managed payments is the speed of payouts transferred to his bank account after his customers make purchases. Depending on the bank, sellers can typically expect funds to be sent within 2-4 business days of an order confirmation.
*eBay aims to pay sellers as fast as possible, but turnaround times are dependent on the credit card brands (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc.) and banks for payout processing and timely funds settlement.
Hear from Alyssa Cutright, Vice President of Payments at eBay, about the rollout of managed payments in the U.S.
