Our Employee Engagement

Our employees actively come together to support the communities where we live and work. This is one of the things that makes eBay a special place.

In 2024, more than 2,500 eBay employees volunteered over 60,000 hours — the equivalent of 2,500 calendar days — to support their communities around the world. They also donated to more than 4,300 nonprofit organizations across 60 countries. With eBay matching gifts, employee contributions totaled over $7.7 million for causes that matter.

eBay Changemakers teams drive volunteering and giving with colleagues in their local community – being the change and inspiring it in others, too. By putting trust, empathy and humility into action, Changemakers help make our communities better places to live and work – for everyone.

“My love for community work comes from a variety of different places: my family, friends, school, church. Community service has been part of my life since my childhood in Brazil. If we have the opportunity and the means to empower our communities, why shouldn’t we? It’s this same passion that inspires me to encourage others as well, to identify their own passions and fold those issues — environmental conservation, animal welfare, poverty, migration — into the work of our Changemakers Switzerland team at eBay.”

A crisis volunteer in her spare time for Shout Crisis Text Line, a mental health tech service provider, Alex brings her commitment for giving to her work. “The Changemakers team has allowed me to unlock my potential and help colleagues unlock their own,” she said. “It’s inspired me to try new things and meet new people, to create broader and more varied connections. During the pandemic, it’s taken me out of sitting at a computer in my spare bedroom to spark unexpected connections with others.”
