With the holidays approaching, eBay has launched its “The More the Merrier” gift-giving sweepstakes, through which shoppers and their friends can team up to win valuable prizes. The sweepstakes, which runs in the U.S. from Nov. 8 to Dec. 16, has a social holiday gifting theme and is integrated with Facebook.
The sweepstakes will award five weekly winners between Nov. 8 and Dec. 12 and five daily winners from Dec. 12 to 16. Complete contest rules and information are available here.
To get started, participants visit the eBay Facebook page and click on “The More The Merrier” link on the left side of the page. After agreeing to the rules and “liking” the eBay page, an entrant can send 10 friends a virtual gift from a collection of hot holiday choices, including iPads and digital cameras.
All friends who open the virtual gifts will be entered to win the real gift. The entrant who sends the gifts will have a chance to win a $100 eBay gift certificate. The entrant and his/her group of friends will receive one additional entry in the sweepstakes for each friend that “opens” a gift.
Starting Nov. 15, participants can enter the sweepstakes when using the Facebook mobile app by clicking on the sweepstakes link featured in wall posts on the eBay page. They can also access the sweepstakes through links shared by friends or links that appear on their friends’ walls.
eBay’s “The More the Merrier” sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older.
