eBay Australia is launching its first-ever “24 Hours of Drops”, a 24-hour live shopping event, with over one thousand items across 100+ streams to be auctioned on Friday 26 June until Saturday 27 June. The mega-stream also celebrates the arrival of pre-loved fashion on eBay Live in Australia, featuring luxury items including Chanel, Gucci and Hermès across a series of streams, as well as hundreds of highly anticipated Penny Drops for 1 cent.
Throughout the 24-hour event, exclusive deals, rare collectables, and trading cards will be available to Australian shoppers. It comes as new eBay research reveals Australians could spend up to $7.5 billion AUD on live commerce for pre-loved fashion items over the next 12 months.1 For surveyed Australians, value remains the leading driver (41%) for purchasing through live commerce platforms, followed by the ability to view items in real time (33%) and interact directly with sellers (26%).1
To celebrate pre-loved fashion on the platform, Australian fashion icon Lara Worthington will also host an exclusive eBay Live stream featuring curated pieces from her personal archive and sought-after designer items, including a Sofia Coppola for Louis Vuitton handbag available for just 1 cent.
Standout pieces from her personal archive include a Phoebe Philo-era Celine skirt and a custom Viktor Gichev dress worn to the 2025 Avatar movie premiere. The stream will also feature a selection of designer finds, including a Burberry Cropped Trench, Chanel Tweed Jacket, Miu Miu Boots and a Coach Tabby. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to Bowel Cancer Australia via eBay’s partner Goodlot (goodlot.co).
Lara Worthington said: “Fashion, for me, has always been about personal expression, but what I love about pre-loved pieces is the history they carry, reflecting that moment in time. Being part of an eBay Live event like this celebrates those stories. It gives iconic pieces that I love a new life in a way that feels modern, fun and personal.”
Alaister Low, Country Manager of eBay Live Australia, said: “Our research shows Australians are drawn to live commerce for the opportunity to discover unique pieces, connect directly with sellers and enjoy a more immersive shopping experience. ‘24 Hours of Drops’ brings all of these elements together in one place.
“We’re also seeing strong demand for pre-loved fashion on eBay, as Australians increasingly seek out quality, value and unique pieces that reflect their personal style. Bringing pre-loved fashion to eBay Live is a natural next step, combining the excitement of real-time shopping with the trust and authenticity eBay is known for.”
The Australian launch follows the success of similar eBay Live events in the US, where the “48 Hours of Drops” event set a new daily sales volume record for eBay Live, with each day outperforming previous records set on Black Friday by 60%.1 The format also resonated in the UK and Germany, where live shopping continues to gain traction, particularly among younger audiences.2
Emily Symes, owner of Ekoluv and an eBay Live seller, said the format makes fashion discovery more immediate and engaging.
“It’s exciting to help bring pre-loved fashion to eBay Live and be a part of 24 Hours of Drops, especially when the pieces have such a strong fashion story behind them,” Symes said. “Live shopping gives people the chance to see items up close in real time while making the whole experience feel more personal and engaging.”
The 24-hour shopping event will feature more than 100 livestreams, over 1,000 items, and more than 100 ‘Penny Drop’ deals throughout the day, with items being offered for just 1 cent.
Aussies can set a reminder and tune into eBay Live’s 24 Hours of Drops from 8:00am AEST on Friday 26 June via the eBay app or ebay.com.au, with Lara Worthington’s auction stream live from 2:00pm AEST.
