Alyson Hannigan and StubHub Join Forces to Launch National Mom’s Night Out Program to Benefit Adopt-A-Classroom

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--StubHub, the world’s largest ticket marketplace, today announced that it is joining forces with “How I Met Your Mother” star Alyson Hannigan to launch a national charity program, Mom’s Night Out. The program is designed to encourage moms to take a night off with their friends to attend one of 17 summer events ranging from baseball games to rock concerts. A portion of proceeds from all ticket sales to the designated events will be donated to Adopt-A-Classroom, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting teachers and ensuring all children have equal access to a quality education.

The program launches as StubHub reveals stats from a new consumer survey conducted by Wakefield Research in which it found 83 percent of Americans think being a mom is the hardest job in America. Four out of five people (80 percent) even think it is more difficult than their own job. The survey also discovered that nearly two out of five (37 percent) moms haven’t had a “moms’ night out” in the past year. Ahead of Mother’s Day, StubHub set up the program to recognize this often hardest-working member of the family, and to give her an opportunity to have fun with her friends.

Established in 1998, Adopt-A-Classroom has raised more than $14 million on behalf of teachers across the United States. When a donor adopts a classroom, he/she is making a tax-deductible donation directly to a classroom and 100 percent of the funds are directed to the teacher. The teacher then uses the donated funds to shop online from a network of vendors that have partnered with Adopt-A-Classroom.

In addition to donating a portion of the proceeds from Mom’s Night Out events, StubHub is also offering moms a chance to enter to win a VIP experience for themselves and three of their friends to these events. Moms can go to the Mom’s Night Out microsite to enter, sharing in 50-words or less and submitting a photo to show why they deserve a Mom’s Night Out. Friends and family can also enter on behalf of a deserving mom. In select cities, moms will kick off their night with complimentary food and refreshments at Hard Rock Café.
