Following a beta test that began in December, traffic is growing as StubHub.co.uk officially debuts.

StubHub made international headlines this week with the official launch of StubHub.co.uk, marking the company’s first expansion outside North America.  After a soft launch in December, the site has grown organically. By last week’s launch, StubHub. U.K. boasted over 150 thousand tickets listed on the site.

The company now enables sellers to ship with UPS and has simultaneously launched a new iPhone app that supports U.K. buyers and sellers.

“We now have to deliver on our promise to U.K. fans of live entertainment,“ said Brigitte Ricou-Bellan, Senior Director-GM International.

“The U.K. has an incredibly rich and vibrant event landscape with an amazing sporting, music and theatre scene and we are looking forward to bringing U.K. fans our customer centric approach that has made us not only the largest ticket marketplace in the U.S. but also the best at serving fans,” said Chris Tsakalakis, President and General Manager of StubHub.

Media coverage included The Daily Mirror, The Guardian, StubHub on BBC Breakfast (the biggest morning TV show in the UK), StubHub on Jeff Randall Live on Sky News, StubHub UK Launch on CNBC Live, StubHub on BBC Radio 5 Live and The Financial Times.

StubHub celebrated the launch with a star-studded party on March 15 at the Paramount Club, London.
