On November 8 at San Francisco’s AfroTech 2018, eBay is coming together with more than 3,000 Millennial entrepreneurs, tech industry professionals, artists and students for a multi-day exchange on entrepreneurship, design and engineering, and leadership in Tech. This year, eBay is inspiring AfroTech’s audience by showcasing eBay sellers - MyComicShop in partnership with renowned comic artist Sanford Green and Black Panther jewelry designer, Douriean Fletcher.
eBay Exclusive: Bitter Root # 1
eBay is partnering with seller MyComicShop on an exclusive variant comic of Bitter Root #1 - the highly anticipated new series from Image Comics - with illustrator Sanford Greene. AfroTech attendees will get exclusive access to a one-week early release of Bitter Root #1 with a limited number of the eBay variant and standard cover copies available only at the eBay booth G1. Buyers can use the eBay App to pay and pick up. Additionally, Greene will be attending the show to meet attendees and sign advanced copies.
For shoppers who aren’t able to attend, they have a chance to own this limited-edition variant on eBay beginning November 14, for $5.99 with free U.S. shipping – while supplies last at ebay.com/bitterroot. This is the second time that eBay is partnering with Greene. Earlier this year, his exclusive variant cover of Black Panther #1 sold out, and he spoke on eBay’s San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Comics and Diversity Panel with eBay’s Sam Bright, VP of Merchandising.
Marvel Black Panther Collection
Additionally, eBay’s AfroTech installation will feature jewelry created by Douriean Fletcher, the designer who created the jewelry worn in Marvel’s blockbuster Black Panther movie. Onsite and on her new eBay store, Fletcher will be selling distinct, limited release jewelry pieces from her Marvel Black Panther Collection. Some of these items include Black Panther Claw and Killmonger Gold Claw necklaces, Black Panther claw ring, Killmonger, Black Panther claw and Black Panther mask bracelets.
Fletcher creates fine art adornments as she believes that through dress and adornment women can define their beauty on their own terms and express themselves authentically. Her pieces are the unique products of her creative process in which she explores cultural identity, femininity, spirituality and divine power. Pieces include natural raw materials, gilded 18K and 24K Gold metals, and bold abstract shapes, to bring forth the awareness of an ancient yet futuristic opulence. The purpose of her work is to provide visionaries and changemakers adornments that reflect their unique brilliance and audacity.
