The Power of One Charity Lunch Auction is an annual event where participants can bid on the opportunity for themselves and up to seven guests to join Co-founder, Chair, and CEO of Salesforce, San Francisco’s own Marc Benioff, for lunch in support of GLIDE. All proceeds from the Power of One Charity Lunch Auction—totaling more than $54.5M since its founding—fund GLIDE’s transformative programs and services for vulnerable members of the community.

Conceived by the late Susie Buffett, the Power of One Charity Lunch Auction was launched in 2000 and initially raised $25,000 for lunch with legendary financier and philanthropist Warren Buffett. In 2003, at Warren Buffett’s suggestion, the auction moved to leading online auction platform eBay, significantly increasing its reach and yield. In 2024, Warren Buffett passed the baton of this legendary lunch to Marc Benioff, who is now hosting for his second year.

eBay has retained Matchfire to manage this auction. Matchfire provides comprehensive auction management services for charities, nonprofit organizations, and top brand companies.
