CARSON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The transition of The Home Depot Center to StubHub Center is already underway in Carson as more than 1,000 signs reflecting the new naming rights agreement for the venue are starting to be replaced.

On March 4, it was announced that StubHub, the world’s largest ticket marketplace, entered into an agreement with AEG to become the new naming rights partner of the 125-acre multi-sport facility on the campus of California State University, Dominguez Hills that opened June 1, 2003 as The Home Depot Center.

Effective tomorrow, June 1, the privately-financed collection of world class venues including the 27,000-seat outdoor stadium that serves as the home of the back-to-back MLS Cup Champion LA Galaxy and the Chivas USA soccer franchises, will become ‘StubHub Center,’ which represents the first-ever naming rights partnership for the ticketing company and leading consumer brand. StubHub Center will remain an Official U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Site and the training center for the United States Soccer Federation, the United States Tennis Association and USA Cycling.

Beginning with the LA Galaxy vs. Portland Timbers MLS match on Wednesday, June 19, and focusing on its commitments to customer service and the fan experience, StubHub Center will unveil many new ‘fan-friendly’ activation components including a new fan fest area located in the venue’s southwest plaza, a commemorative ticket experience and other fan-oriented activations located throughout the stadium.

Leading up to the official ribbon cutting and unveiling of the new StubHub Center key marquee signage at the venue on June 19, the venue will host the WBA Intercontinental Welterweight Championship fight featuring WBA Intercontinental Welterweight Champion Marcos Maidana and top rated welterweight contender Josesito Lopez on Saturday, June 8.
