The 2013 Play On! event marks the 10th anniversary of the 21-city sports festival that, over the next nine weeks, will feature a recreational and competitive 4-on-4 street hockey tournament for boys, girls, men and women of all ages and skill levels. The tournament culminates with the national championships in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia Sept. 26-28.
As part of StubHub’s sponsorship, the ticketing company will receive branding exposure at all 21 events, with custom, on-site brand activations in 7 markets, including Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary, Vancouver and the national championships in Nova Scotia in September.
StubHub will also receive promotion across several media platforms, including television integration into the CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada.
Hockey Night in Canada’s Play On! has grown at an average of more than 30% annually since it started in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2003 and this year, will host more than 6,000 teams across Canada and involve more games played than all North American professional sports leagues combined.
