Want to check whether this season’s sunglasses suit your face? Help is now at hand as eBay.co.uk updates its Fashion App to include a new augmented reality feature, so shoppers can now virtually ‘try on’ sunglasses before they buy.
The “See It On” Sunglasses feature is easy to use and helps mobile shoppers, or ‘moppers,’ find the perfect look using augmented reality – one of the most exciting technologies around. Grazia magazine and London Fashion Week have both embraced the trend of overlaying digital data – such as a video – on the real world, with 3D covers, 360-degree view photo shoots and interactive barcodes.
- Access “See It On” from the “front page” of the app, take a picture of yourself using a front-facing camera*
- Choose from different styles – including aviator, wayfarer and rimless – as well as frames and lenses in multiple colours
- Fit the glasses to your face using a pinch and zoom measurement
- Now just decide which style you like
The eBay Fashion App, available free from iTunes, launched last summer, allowing fashionistas to browse, buy and virtually “try on” items from the world’s largest online shopping destination. eBay’s Fashion app makes it’s easier than ever to indulge in your passion for fashion anytime, anywhere and become your own online stylist.
The “See It On” Sunglasses function is the latest addition to a host of handy features which help any budding bargainista make the most of high street looks, including:
- A Personalised Closet to view your favourite fashion finds in one place
- An Outfit Builder enabling you to try on items virtually
- Share your fashion finds with friends for a second opinion
- A virtual style gallery showcasing the latest trends
- Easily refined search, allowing you to choose popular categories, or by ‘Buy It Now’ items or auction
Fashion lovers have been flocking to eBay mobile apps, snapping up 13 pieces of clothing, pairs of shoes and accessories every minute worldwide.
