- eBay UK launches the Official Thule Store, offering premium Thule accessories including roof bars, roof boxes, bike carriers, bike trailers and dog crates
- More than one in 10 motorists (12%) go on fewer road trips than they would like due to the amount of loadspace available in their car
- New Thule branded store on eBay can be found here.
eBay, the UK’s number one online marketplace for vehicle parts and accessories, has launched the Official Thule Store, giving customers a trusted destination to shop genuine Thule products directly on the marketplace this summer road trip season.
The launch brings together eBay’s marketplace with Thule’s premium transport solutions at a time when many drivers are looking for smarter ways to expand their car’s capacity, to bring bikes, camping kit, luggage, pets and family essentials on the road.
With almost half (49%) of drivers owning a family hatchback or smaller, many motorists could considerably increase their vehicle storage capacity with Thule accessories for everything from family holidays and cycling weekends to camping trips and outdoor adventures.
eBay found around one in 10 (12%) drivers claimed the size of their car made them go on fewer road trips, while 14% said having enough load carrying space was one of their biggest concerns when going away.
The Official Thule Store on eBay gives customers a simple way to browse premium Thule accessories from a brand known for helping people bring what matters safely, securely and in style.
The research also highlights why the right transport solution matters before a journey begins. One in ten (10%) drivers admitted to leaving their boot open due to over packing their car, while 15% of drivers have improperly secured items to their vehicle roof, risking fines of up to £2,500 and three penalty points.
For younger motorists especially, safe and simple loading solutions can make everyday trips and longer journeys feel more accessible. eBay’s research revealed Gen-Z drivers struggled the most with safely loading their vehicles. More than
two-fifths (43%) said they had resorted to tying items to their roof rather than using a secure roof box, while more than a quarter (28%) admitted leaving their boot open due to over-packing.
Of those drivers struggling with packing their car, eBay’s research found that Gen-Z motorists are the most likely generation (43%) to re-pack their vehicle multiple times ahead of any journey, compared with just 3% of boomers.
