Ranging from action to comedy flicks, eBay data reports that movies like Incredibles 2, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Deadpool 2 have influenced this year’s hot costume leaderboard. Swinging into the #1 spot for adults*, your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is the top choice for Marvel fans this year. eBay shoppers also shared their affinity for Black Panther, where over 25 Black Panther costumes were purchased each day in September*. Plus, off the heels of the summer premiere of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, sales for T-Rex Costumes increased by 124% from August to September*.
Be on the look-out for Fortnite costumes that are winning the Halloween game, where costumes inspired by the popular video game fell in the top 10 rankings for both adults and children. Plus, sales for Fortnite Halloween costumes on eBay jumped by 533% from August to September*.
Ringing in two notable anniversaries in 2018, eBay kids and kids at heart also shared their fandom this Halloween for Mickey Mouse, who turned the big 9-0, as well as Harry Potter, who is celebrating 20 years of wizardry. In fact, Mickey Mouse costume sales jumped 152% from August to September*, and there were 140 Harry Potter wands sold per day on eBay from September 1 - 18*.
