StubHub expands collegiate sports partnerships within Big 12 Conference through strategic affiliations with Paciolan and IMG College

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--StubHub, the world's largest ticket marketplace, today announced that it will become the Official Fan to Fan Ticket Marketplace for The University of Texas. The partnership, which was facilitated through StubHub’s existing relationship with Paciolan, the leading provider of ticketing services for college athletics and IMG College, the multimedia rights partner for The University of Texas Athletics, will kick off with the 2011 college football season. StubHub is now the secondary ticketing partner for 21 collegiate properties nationwide and is fully integrated with eight institutions through the Paciolan partnership.

“We look forward to working with Texas on the partnership, providing a convenient, protected way for their fans to buy and sell tickets to what’s sure to be a hotly contested sports year.”

“The University of Texas is proud to partner with StubHub and Paciolan to provide our devoted fans with convenient and secure access to great tickets leading right up to game time,“ said DeLoss Dodds, athletic director, University of Texas. “StubHub’s values and dedication to quality fan experiences certainly complement our existing internal ticketing platforms, and ensure Longhorn fans that tickets are always available.”

Longhorn sports fans can purchase tickets through StubHub’s marketplace, which provides fans with a trusted online destination where tickets can be exchanged in a safe environment, backed by StubHub’s industry-leading FanProtect guarantee. The University of Texas will also be offering convenient print-at-home ticket delivery for the first time this fall at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, through its partnership with Paciolan. Print-at-home delivery will be available for fans that purchase single tickets directly from Texas Athletics and for those who purchase tickets through StubHub’s marketplace.

As the Longhorns’ Official Fan to Fan Ticket Marketplace, StubHub marketing assets will be highly visible across basketball and football properties for the university, including LED rotational signage and in-game promotions, concourse signage, hospitality events, ticket inserts, dedicated emails and social media alerts, and creative elements on TexasSports.com. Additionally, commercial spots and entitlements will air on the new Longhorn Network television channel throughout programming.

“StubHub is proud to welcome The University of Texas as an esteemed partner within our rapidly expanding collegiate roster, specifically within the Big 12 Conference,” said Danielle Maged, head of partnerships and business development, StubHub. “We look forward to working with Texas on the partnership, providing a convenient, protected way for their fans to buy and sell tickets to what’s sure to be a hotly contested sports year.”

Paciolan and StubHub’s electronic integration with the university gives Longhorn fans the ultimate in convenience and service for football, men’s basketball, and Frank Erwin Center events, including concerts. The product integration enables tickets to be purchased and then emailed instantly using the school’s print-at-home delivery, which, combined with StubHub’s automated fulfillment technology, allows for a streamlined listing and purchase process that saves buyers and sellers time. With the new integration, both Longhorn season ticket and individual game ticket holders have the opportunity to list on StubHub and have their tickets instantly sent to buyers.

”We are delighted to partner with StubHub and the University of Texas to provide an integrated resale solution,” said Dave Butler, chief executive officer, Paciolan. “This partnership enables season ticket holders to easily resell unused tickets, gives buyers access to great seats, and enables Texas Athletics to offer a new, valuable service to their fans and season ticket holders. Everybody wins.”
