Beatles not so ‘yesterday’: The Fab Four top the musical stars ranking

To mark the fortieth anniversary since the death of the Elvis Presley, eBay.co.uk has taken a look at some of our most-loved musicians and revealed that The Beatles ‘come together’ to top the musical stars ranking.

With more than 85,000 current listings for ‘The Beatles’ on site[1], the online marketplace has seen nearly 40,000 related items sold in the last three months – that’s 16 every hour![2] The late great David Bowie has rocked his way to second place, selling 13 items per day in the last three months – including everything from Pop Art Prints and LP Records to Signed T-Shirts and Photographs.

However, with nearly 70,000 current listings for Elvis memorabilia on site, the ‘King’ remains ‘always on our mind’. Firmly in third place, rock royalty Elvis has sold six related items every half an hour in the last three months, including everything from mugs to masks.

Despite not having had a No 1 single since “Suspicious Minds” in 1969, Elvis proves he is still the King of Rock and Roll, staying ahead of other musical greats including Michael Jackson, Madonna and modern day musicians Ed Sheeran and pop princess Katy Perry.
