This weekend, eBay will premiere a hilarious series of shows in the Bullring Birmingham, entitled Shop Live! with eBay. Taking place centre stage in the city’s shopping destination, the series of live performances will take place on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th May.
In a tongue-in-cheek homage to home shopping television programmes, Shop Live! will consist of two interactive performances; each allowing the audience to take advantage of deals straight from the convenience of their mobiles, whilst they watch.
Renowned British comedian and author Shappi Khorsandi will compere and entertain guests in a specially designed ‘Shop Live!’ set, where, in partnership with local lifestyle specialists, they will demonstrate the latest and greatest range of products available on eBay.
Each of the performances will showcase ‘exactly what you need… and everything else’ for some unlikely but amusing scenarios. The first will highlight the beauty and style essentials needed for fans to ‘Ace Your Reality TV Audition’, featuring an exclusive cameo from the glamourous Amy Childs of ‘TOWIE’ fame. The second – in celebration of the online marketplace’s new TV ad spot - will explain how to ‘Survive The Zombie Apocalypse’ using everyday home and electrical products.
Allowing the audience in on the action, Shappi and her special guests will encourage the crowd to get up on stage for their chance to be rewarded with giveaways and photo moments.
Deals on selected products will also be available via mobile, with the items available to pick-up immediately from the Union Street, Argos eBay Click & Collect service.
In celebration of the ‘Shop Live! with eBay’ experience, eBay has also unveiled the secret shopping habits of its 640,000 monthly Birmingham customers, revealing some of the most popular items bought on site.
Smartphones prove to be an ever-popular purchase, with more than 890 being snapped up by tech-savvy shoppers a month.
