24 NOVEMBER 2015, LONDON, 8:30AM – eBay has revealed the nation’s intriguing ‘all-hours’ approach to shopping this Black Friday, predicting the peak time that some popular items will sell and how many are expected to be purchased, at that time.

From video games at 4.22 AM, headphones at 6.00 AM and Christmas lights at 8.32 AM; it seems Brits will make the most of every shopping minute available, to ensure they snag the best deals*:

The online marketplace has estimated that an astounding 25 items will be purchased each second this Friday, as a staggering 9 million Brits are expected to visit its UK site within just 24 hours. Two thirds of time-poor Brits will choose to avoid the crowds and shop the virtual street via the convenience of mobile.

Tanya Lawler, Vice President for eBay Marketplaces in the UK: ‘The Black Friday shopping period is a hotly anticipated time for UK customers. Shoppers are savvier than ever, expecting great value and deals in the run up to Christmas. With eBay, it’s never been simpler to find the right gift and a great deal from the millions of items available worldwide.

To help solve seasonal shopping conundrums and make this holiday season a little less stressful, the site has also launched the #eBayElves service - the world’s first social gift concierge.

Four specialist gifting helpers will be on hand to solve present-hunting predicaments until 20th December 2015 (perfect for those last minute purchases) and can be reached simply via Twitter @eBay_uk using #eBayElves. One of the experts will respond with a hand-selected suggestion from the millions of items available from ebay.co.uk
