eBay Inc.’s Operations teams are thriving across APAC after winning national awards in China and Malaysia for outstanding customer service.
For the second year running, eBay Marketplaces and PayPal’s customer service centers in Shanghai were jointly awarded Best Customer Contact Center of the Year in China by the China Call Center and BPO Association. Their management processes will now be considered best practices for call centers across a number of Chinese industry sectors.
Meanwhile, PayPal’s Malaysia Ops team in Kuala Lumpur collected the award for Most Creative Contact Center at the CRM & Contact Centre Industry Awards. Recognized for its performance in the country’s contact center industry, the team also placed highly in other award categories, including Best Newcomer Contact Center and Best Contact Center Team Leader.
Fittingly, China’s best contact centre is now operating in one of Shanghai’s finest facilities. A new Shanghai Operations site with panoramic views and a colourful interior officially opened this month in Lu Jia Zui. Senior eBay executives, including John McCabe, senior vice president, Global Risk, Operations and Compliance, PayPal, and Steve Boehm, senior vice president, Global Customer Experience, Marketplaces, attended the ceremony.
APAC’s recent successes are largely due to eBay’s emphasis on long-term customer service staff training. “In a continuous learning environment with a focus on best practices, talented employees in the Shanghai and Malaysia centres receive the tools they need to develop and thrive,” said Sarah Deaton, vice president, APAC PayPal Operations.
