Instagram Chooses PayPal to Help Kick Off Ads Initiative

Editor's Note: The following blog post first appeared on PayPal Forward.

We’re excited to share that we’re teaming up with Instagram to be a part of their advertising launch. We’re proud to be hand-selected as one of Instagram’s most active and inspirational brands, as the platform evolves and innovates a new way to distribute mobile advertising.

In January of 2013, PayPal launched our Instagram account as a place to visually showcase a variety of experiences – both mobile and online – available when using PayPal. Whether documenting peer-to-peer money transfers, the ease of in-store checkout, or our revolutionary new functions to our re-imagined PayPal app, we’ve found a way to illustrate value and incorporate how to use our products. We’ve worked to transform the way tech companies and financial institutions approach visual storytelling, which is why we’re thrilled to be a part of Instagram’s next chapter as they pioneer a new way for brands to share their initiatives and connect with current and aspirational audiences.

Considering PayPal’s key strategic initiatives - including music, women, small business, product announcements and nonprofit - we’ve partnered with 26 photographers and influencers globally. From spending time window shopping with fashion blogger Pelayo Diaz in Barcelona and catching the music action at SXSW with graphic designer and photographer Paul Octavious, to traveling the country with Kevin and Joe on their #roundaboutusa roadtrip and visiting Bay Area nonprofits with Instagram’s favorite French bulldog, Trotter Pup, we’ve captured it all on Instagram.

We’ve been applauded for “doing Instagram right” with a focus on creating an experience-based feed. Now, we’re celebrating Instagram on their groundbreaking new approach to advertising branded content. So, cheers to Instagram on an exciting next chapter, we’re looking forward to what’s next!

Stay tuned at @PayPal and don’t forget to share your own photos with #paypalit!
