eBay find Brits are ‘Fonda’ of British reality stars than keeping up with their US counterparts

eBay find Brits are ‘Fonda’ of British reality stars than keeping up with their US counterparts

As Charlotte Crosby high kicks her way to the top of the fitness DVD charts, eBay.co.uk has released its own ranking which shows that the Geordie Shore star’s sales are more than double those from the Made in Chelsea crew, her closest rivals, and nearly 15 times higher than muscular Mel B’s.

And even though we flocked to the internet to see photos of her famous derrière, it turns out that we’re less likely to want our own bootilicious butt cheeks: Kim Kardashian and her fitness DVD came 14thin a ranking of the top 15 most popular celebrity fitness DVDs – beating only Coronation Street’s Liz Callard.

Instead, it appears that it’s the reality stars from these shores who dominate the fitness DVD virtual shelf – knocking other previous soap favourites such as Natalie Cassidy and Jennifer Ellison down to 8thand 9threspectively. Meanwhile, the lady known for introducing aerobics to the world, Jane Fonda, only just makes it into the top ten.

With sales of fitness DVDs going from strength to strength during December, eBay.co.uk saw its busiest week between Christmas and New Year[1], with more than 13 exercise DVDs sold every hour in that week alone - nearly double (47%) that of the previous week.  Overall, sales have increased by a staggering 150% in the first two weeks of 2015 as Brits try to battle the post-Xmas bulge.

Laura Wilkinson-Rea of  eBay comments:

“With gyms up and down the country full to bursting point in January, its little wonder that we’re seeing sales of fitness DVDs soaring on eBay as people choose to work up a sweat in the comfort of their own home. And with temperatures set to plummet further, there’s even less incentive to leave the lounge in order to tone up.”
