eBay reveals 25th January as most romantic day of the year

Forget February 14th, according to data from eBay.co.uk, it seems that Britain is a nation of planners when it comes to matters of the heart, taking an average of 20 days to plan special moments such as Valentine’s Day, which actually makes 25th January the most romantic day of the year.[1]

Indeed, with the likes of Kirsten Dunst and Serena Williams recently announcing their engagements, it seems that love is in the air this month, and in the virtual shopping basket, with nearly 11,000 engagement rings sold on eBay.co.uk in the past three weeks – that’s more than 20 sold every hour.[2]

As well as engagement rings, eBay has seen nearly 1,300 heart shaped cushions and more than 22,000 teddy bears sold on site, that’s nearly 45 sold every hour. Currently, there are more than 30,000 listings for Valentine’s Day related gifts on site ranging from personalised ‘I love you’ wine labels to luxury chocolate selection boxes.

So if you’re planning a romantic treat for the one you love, head to eBay for all your Valentine’s Day treats.
